OCTOBASE x OCTOFLOW

SMART on FHIR Clinical Data Hub

OCTOBASE and OCTOFLOW connect a hospital's existing clinical, administrative, device, and partner systems through a secure, standards-based architecture. OCTOFLOW transforms and processes data using HL7 FHIR, regional Implementation Guides, and each hospital's own specifications, while OCTOBASE provides a unified gateway for authentication, access control, API governance, tenant management, and auditing. Together they let healthcare networks modernize data exchange incrementally — without replacing existing systems — building a governed data foundation for future AI applications such as record summarization, FHIR retrieval, knowledge-base assistance, anomaly detection, and documentation.

OCTOFLOW Passes the 2026 TW Connectathon

Source:SGSC, Sep. 8, 2026

OCTOREACH and its strategic partner SGSC (Smart Group Solutions Corp.) entered their medical data intermediary platform, OCTOFLOW, in the 2026 Taiwan Connectathon, organized by the Medical Imaging Standard Association of Taiwan (MISAT) to validate interoperability against international standards such as HL7 FHIR and IHE. OCTOFLOW passed both "Track #01: TWCDI v2.0 (TW Core Creator)" and "Track #03: SMART App Launch 2.2.0 - STU 2.2 (Authenication Server - SMART)" earning dual-track certification that proves standards compliance and trustworthy data interoperability.

A Bottom-Up Architecture for Healthcare Data Integration

OCTOFLOW and OCTOBASE build a standards-based SMART on FHIR data lake.

Data Exchange, Transformation & Monitoring

A cloud-native medical data exchange and governance platform. Staff log in once to reach every authorized in-hospital system, with role-based permissions provisioned automatically and no need for multiple credentials. It unifies heterogeneous data from hospital systems (HIS, LIS, PACS, IoT medical devices) into the FHIR standard, forming the data foundation for AI applications.

FHIR Standardization

Transforms non-standardized, heterogeneous hospital data into compliant FHIR resources per HL7 FHIR, national/regional Implementation Guides (such as the TW Core IG and SG IG), and hospital-specific data specifications. Built-in code mapping and validation let output pass the official FHIR Validator, ensuring every record is standards-compliant and consistently interpretable by downstream systems.

Normalized, AI-Ready Data

Extracts and cleanses data and orchestrates data flows that adapt to each hospital—from foundational HIS data to complex critical-care clinical data—normalizing data before it enters the FHIR data pool as a trusted source for AI. Medical AI needs trustworthy data, standard APIs, and auditable processes OCTOFLOW lets applications like record summarization, FHIR querying, knowledge-base assistance, anomaly detection, and document generation be built and deployed quickly on a solid data foundation.

Applicable System Integrations

- EHR/EMR, hospital information systems, and core in-hospital system integration- Laboratory, imaging, pharmacy, nursing, and administrative system integration- Medical-device and real-time data integration (HL7 FHIR)- Regional or hospital-specific Profile support SMART on FHIR app integration- Cross-system API governance and audit tracking- An AI-ready healthcare data foundation

Real-Time Monitoring Dashboard

A multi-tenant connection-health dashboard shows each tenant's Health connectivity, response time, and error rate in real time. Dropped connections or timeouts trigger proactive alerts, and historical stability and availability reports let operations monitor system health across the hospital and continuously track each unit's connection status.

Identity & Access Governance

Provides unified authentication, access governance, and multi-tenant management with SMART on FHIR support. It integrates seamlessly with the hospital's own authentication systems, so in-house AI applications can securely access clinical data through standard interfaces.

Unified Portal & SSO

With native support for SAML 2.0 / OAuth 2.0, the system automatically provisions permissions by role, passes tokens across multiple systems, and provides a unified portal and personalized work dashboard—simplifying the user experience while strengthening account control. Advanced AD / LDAP capabilities are available to meet hospital-specific requirements.

Permission Governance

Applies fine-grained access control to clinical data so every access is compliant and auditable. External applications and AI agents are assigned granular SMART scopes, and whitelisting strictly limits accessible resources and permitted operations — ensuring every access stays within explicitly authorized bounds.

Comprehensive Request Auditing

Every data request is written to an immutable audit log that captures the full context — user, role, tenant, client, IP, purpose of use, token issuer, and source referer — meeting healthcare-regulatory and information-security requirements for traceability.

Multi-Tenant Management

Separates external authorization from the internal conversion engine so the internal database is never directly exposed, reinforcing data-security boundaries. A single platform centrally governs multiple tenants and sites, balancing central governance with per-unit flexibility permissions, connection monitoring, and data isolation can be set per tenant, so regional healthcare networks and cross-site deployments run securely under one consistent governance framework.
